Welcome to Denman's Beech Grove Cottages in Muskegon, Michigan. “Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam, circumspice” is the Michigan State motto in Latin. Translated to English, it’s “If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.” This same motto could be used to describe Muskegon’s award-winning Pere Marquette Park beach area, and the histortic Bluffton neighborhood itself. Our two three-bedroom cottages are located side-by-side, less than 100 yards from one of the most beautiful sugar sand beaches on Lake Michigan. This peninsular area is surrounded by Lake Michigan, the Muskegon Lake boat/shipping channel, and Muskegon Lake. Our perfect location helps make our very clean, tastefully decorated cottages feel as good as home. Being not far from, but off, the beaten path to Lake Michigan makes for a more relaxing atmosphere for your well-deserved vacation. The yards are spacious around our cottages, with huge beech, oak, and pine trees on both properties. Nicely landscaped, both yards are full of beautiful perennial and annual flowers. The many bird-feeders provide great wildlife entertainment (not to mention the squirrels, and the occasional deer). Sorry, but we can't allow pets or smoking "inside." The very lightly traveled streets bordering the yards help make it safer for active kids, and there is quick and easy access to the three separate playground areas around Bluffton Elementary School, across the street -- the older kids can keep busy while the younger ones nap. We pride ourselves in making our guests’ stay the best it can be, and we’re usually close by if needed. You won’t regret you stayed here, but we hope you’ll be sorry when you have to go! After looking over our properties, you will have a couple hard decisions to make. Stay in the more spacious cottage(Plum Hollow) or choose the more economical cottage(Pedler's Paradise)? Stay in the cottage with a nice, big yard(Plum Hollow) or choose the more sprawling, secluded yard(Pedler's Paradise)? Don't worry, when you stay here, it gets a lot easier. Each day, your biggest decisions will be "Visit the area by Lake Michigan or Muskegon Lake?" "Walk the beach or bike ride the Shoreline Trail?" Whichever one or more choices you make now, or in the future, you'll be happy either way.
